Another viewing technique is the anaglyph viewing method.  You simply wear
the appropriate anaglyph glasses, and view the photographs.  Give your eyes
some time to adjust, and you’ll be able to really focus on the depth in various
areas of the photograph.
We prefer the side-by-side, or “cross-eyed” viewing technique.  With this technique,
you look at the space between the two pictures, then gently begin crossing your eyes.
A third picture will appear between the two original pictures.  This will be the stereo
image.  Gently adjust your focus until you can comfortably hold the stereo view.  With a
little practice, most people can hold this image well enough to view the image as
clearly and sharply as a well-made anaglyph.  With this method, colors remain more true
than with anaglyphs, and the image tends to remain sharper.

We recommend that you only use this technique for short periods of time, since eye
strain might develop.  Stereo viewers are available that will do all the eye-crossing for
you.  However, they are normally not very comfortable to use, and they generally
restrict the image size and viewing distance.
